We watch movies of our favourite stars and stage plays hosted by popular names in the field and applaud (or giggle at) them for their work. But how many a times do we really appreciate the people behind the scenes who toil a lot to make the project a success? I had been to a movie shooting spot a few months ago and found a lot of men working for the sets. These workers arrange the equipment preparatory to sessions and performances, rig and dismantle stage or set equipment such as frames, scaffolding, platforms, or backdrops, using carpenter’s hand tools, read work orders and follow oral instructions to determine material to be moved and its relocation and so on. They do not get the advantage of an organized work place as most of us do. Their skills have to span from installation, operation, control and maintenance of machines and equipments and handling situations at the eleventh hour. They are faced with some tight deadlines in the sets. In fact, these people are also good managers. Now I feel it is always appropriate to think of such projects as a team work, rather than a movie by some producer or some good actor.

No good industry, so far, has been able to maintain its sheen like medicine. Come recession or bad financial market, there is tonnes of job cut. But there is always loads of work for the medical experts. It is no surprise that jobs in the medicine and health care fields top the list of 100 best paying jobs in the twenty-first century. Anesthesiologists, Internists General, Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Orthodontists, Prosthodontists, Psychiatrists, Surgeons are the top eight best paying jobs of this century. You could simply guess why students flock the medical institutes for a medical seat as the average annual pay for these people stands more than $145,600!

Facebook etiquette
We all go about using all sorts of social networking tools available nowadays, to stay in touch with friends. But, is it an exception to showing to the world who you are? We should not forget to observe certain basic etiquette in this too. ’Horning in’ is a meddlesome act to be avoided. Just like any such act in the society, it shows that you are a nosy person. If you are interested in a person, you could send a private message. Using facebook to breakup with your girl is a ruthless thing to do. Keeping the groups you join discreet is advisable, as it speaks much about you. And the most gracious thing that you would have done to a friend is – respond! Remember the old saying, ‘He who sows courtesy, reaps friendship’
